Perfectionism. Do you struggle with it as well?

As I’m looking at how I was working a few years ago, I keep circling back to it: in everything I do, I always see a way to improve and improve and again...

The problem is that it keeps us stuck. We have such high expectations for ourselves and create so much pressure, it usually leads to procrastination or burning out

So what if we could take some of the pressure off by focusing more on the process, rather than the result?

Anyone is up for a challenge? 🙋‍♀️

Where do you think you could relax (a little))) and let it go without being perfect?

Letting go of perfectionism is a journey that can be difficult, but it is an essential step in transforming your life. Here are some tips and techniques that can help you overcome perfectionism and embrace imperfection:

  1. Embrace the process: Instead of focusing on the end result, try to focus on the process of creating. Enjoy the journey and the small victories along the way. Remember that imperfections are a natural part of the process, and they can make your art even more unique and beautiful.

  2. Set realistic goals: Instead of aiming for perfection, set realistic goals that are achievable. Break down larger goals into smaller, manageable steps, and celebrate your progress along the way. This will help you to feel more motivated and less overwhelmed.

  3. Practice self-compassion: Be kind to yourself and practice self-compassion. Remember that you are only human, and mistakes and imperfections are a natural part of the creative process. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would give to a friend.

  4. Let go of fear: Fear of failure or making mistakes can hold you back from reaching your full potential. Instead of being afraid of failure, embrace it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Remember that every mistake is a step towards progress and improvement.

  5. Focus on the present moment: Perfectionism often comes from worrying about the future or dwelling on the past. Instead of getting caught up in these thoughts, try to focus on the present moment. Be mindful of your thoughts and emotions, and try to stay in the present moment as much as possible.

  6. Seek support: Don't be afraid to seek support from others. Talk to friends, family, or a therapist about your struggles with perfectionism. They can offer you support, encouragement, and perspective.

In summary, letting go of perfectionism can be a difficult journey, but it is an essential step in transforming your life. By embracing imperfection, setting realistic goals, practicing self-compassion, letting go of fear, focusing on the present moment, and seeking support, you can overcome perfectionism and find more joy and fulfillment in your life.
